Ronnie Mitchell was a London taxi driver and mechanic in the 70s. He completed The Knowledge and later opened "Stable Taxis Garage" with his wife, Edna. They quickly built a reputation for their unique ways of running the business and their generosity towards their customers, London's cab drivers.

RONNIE MITCHELL & HRH KING CHARLES

Going to Stable Taxis was never a chore, it was a pleasure. Ronnie was well known as a straight-talking but incredibly kind man. He was also my Grandad.

My family have worked at the garage for three generations. I left in 2020 to pursue an interest in cooking but couldn't leave my family roots behind, so I combined my two passions to create a food delivery service from a converted taxi!

Sadly Grandad Ronnie passed away in 2020 at the grand old age of 92. Thankfully I was able to share my business idea with him and he had the chance to sample my recipe of his favourite grub, Pie & Mash! I hope his legacy lives on through Ronnie’s Black Cab.
